The H.E.A.R.T. Project is a community initiative by Curbed Behaviors designed to connect dog owners with professional training, practical education, trusted resources, and community support.
Our goal is to help people find the right support earlier, especially when behavioral challenges, limited resources, or major life changes begin putting the relationship between a dog and their family at risk.
Why H.E.A.R.T.?
We're dog trainers.
That means we often meet families in the middle of everyday life with their dogs — during the challenges, transitions, frustrations, and questions that don't always fit neatly into one category.
Sometimes the answer is training. Sometimes it's education. Sometimes a family needs a veterinary resource, community service, adoption support, or another type of help entirely.
H.E.A.R.T. gives us a way to recognize those needs, connect people with trusted support, and work alongside organizations throughout our community that each bring something different to the table.
What H.E.A.R.T. Stands For
Hope
Helping people see that there may be another path forward when life with their dog becomes difficult.
Education
Giving dog owners practical information, guidance, and a better understanding of their dogs.
Awareness
Making families more aware of the services, programs, and resources already available within their community.
Retention
Addressing challenges earlier, before surrender or rehoming begins to feel like the only option.
Training
Providing professional obedience and behavior support that strengthens communication between dogs and the people caring for them.
How H.E.A.R.T. Helps
Through H.E.A.R.T., eligible participants may receive reduced-cost professional dog training through Curbed Behaviors.
H.E.A.R.T. also connects dog owners with a growing network of trusted Community Partners whose services may include:

Eligibility and available support may vary depending on the program or resource.
The H.E.A.R.T. Community Partner Network
Strong communities are built through connection.
The H.E.A.R.T. Community Partner Network brings together businesses, organizations, agencies, animal welfare professionals, and other community resources that share a common interest in supporting dogs and the people who care for them.
Each partner contributes through what they do best.
Together, we're creating more places for dog owners to turn when they need help.
